Olive Training Consultants came together in 2022 to offer quality training and employee development, with a particular emphasis on cross-cultural communications within Southeast Asia.

Drawn from training professionals from an eclectic range of industries and academic fields, Olive’s trainers and consultants have the experience, skills and dedication to help teams manage cultural diversity, communicate effectively and achieve desired outcomes.

As licensed partners with the UK’s CultureActive team, we base our cross-cultural programmes on the industry-leading Lewis Model and are also able to incorporate the CultureActive Cultural assessment and team development tools, an award-winning suite of online tools for companies, global organisations and independent professionals working internationally.

Why Cross-Cultural Training?

Diverse teams tend to perform either better or worse than homogeneous ones, with more performing worse than better. Cultural differences within teams can create obstacles to effective teamwork, while individuals first entering a new culture, can find it difficult to work with their new colleagues, where social norms may differ hugely, increasing the risk of accidental disrespect, misunderstanding and the erosion of trust with a risk and poorer team performance.

Are your expat employees finding it difficult to breakthrough with Thai clients or partners? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then we can help. Our Cross-Cultural Awareness Consultation follows a three-part process:

Through discussions, focus groups and questionnaires, we will conduct in-depth research of the situation to understand how expatriate and Thai employees perceive the situation. By understanding all stakeholders’ perception of the issues, we can better focus on any barriers or misconceptions currently present.

By understanding everyone’s goals and expectations, we can better remove any barriers currently in place or address any areas where we can identify and address any behavioural obstacles.

3. Creating Resolutions and Solutions

This could include training initiatives, regular team activities or one-to-one mentoring. Furthermore, we provide ongoing support and advice for all the outcomes achieved and those aspired to.

Frequently Asked Questions

All our programmes a bespoke exactly to the client’s needs. A thorough consultation precedes any training recommendation, ensuring the client receives exactly what they require.

  • Country Specific Departure/Arrival programmes usually last one full day.
  • In-Company Onboarding programmes vary depending on the complexity of the programme required, e.g., if it’s a full onboarding or only cross-cultural onboarding and if the client requires their HR team to be trained in its delivery. Generally between one and three full days.

We are globally flexible and can deliver training at your organization if appropriate facilities exist, i.e., a classroom/meeting with sufficient space for all participants. Otherwise, we can organize a training vendue according the size of the class and the preferred location of the client.

For most multicultural groups, English is the main delivery language. However, we can deliver all our programmes in Thai and Bahasa Indonesia.

Yes. We can deliver all our programmes globally.
